The former reality TV star, 41, shared that she will no longer be using a surrogate to welcome another baby with husband Tim Rosenman. Instead, Port is hoping to carry the baby herself.
āI touched on this in my solo episode last week, but after all the red tape, the money, the emotions, and just how long everything has taken, weāve decided to go in a different direction,ā Port wrote over a photo of herself at a doctorās office on her Instagram Stories. āIām scared to be the vessel, but Iām even more scared of letting fear stop me from trying for something I want so deeply.ā
She also posted a photo of her sonogram, writing, āUterus looks good! Letās f--king go!ā

Port and Rosenman are already parents to son Sonny, 9.
This past January, Port spoke with Spread the Jellyand shared an update on her infertility struggles. At the time, she explained that she was hoping to get to a place of acceptance with what her family looks like.
āI donāt think motherhood looks like what I imagined,ā Port shared. āI never thought Iād be a mom to an only child. I always knew I wanted more than one. I didnāt picture this, and thatās been a little weird for me. My identity as a mom doesnāt feel fully solidified yet because I feel incomplete. I really do.ā
āIām trying to come to a place of acceptance with having one child, because I havenāt been able to get pregnant with a second,ā she continued. āWeāre still on the journey and still trying. But it feels like thereās a piece of my motherhood pie that isnāt complete.ā

Port explained she feels āinsecureā sometimes as a mother because of it. She said when she speaks with other working moms, she doesnāt feel like theyāre on equal footing.
āThis sounds awful, but thereās this feeling like one isnāt enough ā or that itās not as hard, or not as much to balance, or not the full picture,ā she explained. āAnd I carry that insecurity. Iāve done a lot of work around it.ā
āMost of the time, Iām able to tell myself, āOkay, if itās just the three of us, that is wonderful.ā It really is. Iām so grateful that we were even able to have one,ā said Port. āBut thereās still a part of me that doesnāt feel complete.ā
Then in April, Port gave an update on her surrogacy journey during a solo episode of her podcast, With Whit, revealing that her surrogate is preparing for another transfer.
āOur surrogate is starting her medications to begin another transfer. So, this will be our fourth transfer with the surrogate, and we will be using an embryo from our first round that I did,ā she explained. āAnd Iām hoping because it was earlier that itās better quality, but who even knows? All of these embryos have been great quality, and you just never know. So, four times a charm, letās go.ā
But in a July 22 episode of her podcast, Port shared that she and Rosenman were trying to find a new surrogate. āWe needed to find a new surrogate and we started talking to a new surrogacy concierge,ā Port said.
āThe whole thing has just gotten so difficult that I finally decided that I want to check out how I look physically and see if carrying is something that I can actually do on my own,ā she continued, adding that she had two viable embryos from previous in vitro fertilization (IVF) attempts.
āIf I look okay to carry and the doctors think itās safe, weāre going to give it a try,ā continued Port. āDo I particularly want to be pregnant? Not really. I wish I had a more beautiful and inspiring answer.ā
āI did not love being pregnant. What I want is to wrap this up. I want a second child.ā
