Here Comes Honey Boo Boo made a splash during its four-season run.

After rising to fame on TLC's Toddlers & Tiaras, Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson got her own spinoff, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.The show premiered in August 2012, chronicling the lives of sugar-crazed Alana and her family in the small town of McIntyre, Ga.

In addition to Alana, the series featured the following cast members: matriarch June "Mama June" Shannon, Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson and the titular star's three older sisters — Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell (née Shannon), Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon and Jessica "Chubbs" Shannon.

The network abruptly canceled the reality show in August 2014 after June was linked to a convicted sex offender. "Things happen for a reason in life," June said in a Facebook video posted at the time. "We love y'all."

June's WE tv series Mama June: From Not to Hot premiered in 2017 and has since been rebranded under multiple different titles, including Mama June: Road to Redemption and Mama June: Family Crisis. Meanwhile, Alana's Lifetime biopic, I Was Honey Boo Boo, premiered in May 2025. She has since left reality TV behind to pursue her college degree.

Here's everything to know about what happened to Mama June's family after Here Comes Honey Boo Boo was canceled in 2014.

The mother of four catapulted her family into the spotlight when Alana, her youngest child, appeared on TLC's Toddlers & Tiaras in 2009. The duo's personality — and Alana's quotable "Honey Boo Boo child" moment — were standouts on the show.

After interest in the mother-daughter pair grew, the network made them the stars of their own show, Here Comes the Honey Boo Boo, in 2012. The widely discussed reality series introduced viewers to June's daughters Anna, Jessica, Lauryn and Alana, and their day-to-day life in rural Georgia.

However, TLC canceled the pop culture phenomenon after a report revealed the matriarch was dating a registered sex offender. Since then, the family has been involved in numerous scandals.

In June 2019, June was arrested for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and later charged with alleged possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. In April 2021, June was sentenced to 100 hours of community service, court supervision and other conditions, like random drug screenings, per E! Online.

On the season 4 finale of Mama June: Family Crisis, June and her then-boyfriend, Eugene Edward "Geno" Doak, checked into rehab together. The fifth season profiled her sobriety journey and attempts to reconcile with her estranged daughters. Season 8 premiered in March 2026.

June reportedly married Justin Stroud, her boyfriend of six months, at a Georgia courthouse in March 2022. E! News and Entertainment Tonight confirmed via the Wilkinson County court office that the two tied the knot. In February 2023, they wed for a second time in an "intimate oceanfront ceremony" at SpringHill Suites in Panama City, Fla. The occasion marked the first time the family "had all been together since 2014."

"We wanted to have a small and very intimate wedding, so we didn't have any groomsmen or bridesmaids," June said in a press release. "All four of my girls walked me down to Justin, and his mom walked him down the aisle."

In March 2026, while appearing on an episode of Page Six's Virtual Reali-Tea podcast with Jessica, Lauryn and Alana, June disclosed that she had undergone "a total hysterectomy."

"It was not expected," she said, adding, "It was a scare for me because I did have some fibroid cysts that went to separated cysts, and we had a little scare."

June's eldest daughter, Anna, nicknamed "Chickadee," was born on Aug. 28, 1994, when June was 15. Her father is David Dunn, June's ex-boyfriend.

Anna was a mom of two. She welcomed her first child, daughter Kaitlyn Elizabeth, as a teenager in 2012. (Kaitlyn's biological father has not been disclosed.) In 2014, she married Michael Cardwell, and they welcomed their daughter together, Kylee Madison, in 2015. Anna and Michael separated in 2017.

In January 2022, Anna posted on Instagram that she was working at a car dealership.

PEOPLE confirmed in March 2023 that two months prior, Anna had been diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma. The cancer was discovered in her liver, kidney and lung following a series of tests after Anna complained about experiencing stomach aches. Anna died on Dec. 9, 2023. She was 29.

June announced the news of her daughter's death the following day. "With the breaking heart, we are announcing that @annamarie35 is no longer with us," she began the caption on Instagram alongside a family photo. "She passed away in my home last night peacefully at 11:12 PM. She gave one hell of a fight for 10 months she passed away with her family around her like she won't [sic]."

One year after Anna's death, June told PEOPLE that she and the rest of her family are "keeping her as alive as [best as] we can."

June was granted full custody of Kaitlyn in September 2024, while Kylee lives with Cardwell in Alabama.

June welcomed her second-oldest daughter, Jessica, with former partner Michael Anthony Ford on Oct. 12, 1996. (Per the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Ford is a convicted sex offender who served time for sexual exploitation of minors after being caught on To Catch a Predatorin 2005.)

Since Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, Jessica, nicknamed "Chubbs," has appeared on an episode of Steve Harvey's Family Feud and her mother's reality series. She graduated from Wilkinson County High School in McIntyre, Ga., in 2015 and from college in May 2018.

Jessica began dating Shyann McCant in July 2022 and announced their engagement in September 2024. The pair split in June 2026, less than three weeks after footage of their wedding aired on the season 8 finale of Mama June: From Not to Hot.

Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon

Lauryn, nicknamed "Pumpkin," is June's third-oldest daughter, born on Jan. 7, 2000. She was raised to believe her biological father was Mark McDaniel.

TLC ended Here Comes Honey Boo Boo after news broke that June allegedly resumed her relationship with McDaniel, who was convicted of child molestation in 2004 and spent 10 years in prison. In 2014, Anna revealed she was a survivor of McDaniel's assaults, which started when she was 8 years old.

In November of that year, June told Entertainment Tonight that Lauryn's father was Ford, not McDaniel. "Jessica and Pumpkin have the same dad, but Jessica's dad has had nothing to do with her over the years," she said. "So, why the hell would I open up that can of worms until today? I lied to my family and told them it was somebody else."

Lauryn wed Joshua Efird in Las Vegas in 2018. The two met as teenagers and share four children: daughter Ella Grace, born in December 2017, son Bentley, born in July 2021, and twins Sylus and Stella, born in May 2022.

She filed for divorce from Efird in August 2024. During an episode of Mama June: Family Crisis that aired in July 2025, Lauryn revealed she started dating her friend and colleague, Paisley, who is also Josh's cousin. "But they're not blood cousins!" she explained on the episode.

In June 2022, Lauryn was granted full custody of Alana, who had been living with her since June was arrested on drug possession charges in March 2019.

Since appearing on Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, Lauryn continued her reality run on the Mama June spinoffs. Though she and her sisters were estranged from their mother for years, they worked to repair their relationship with June, which appears to be in a better place these days.

"For us, getting to that place took a lot of time and took a lot of effort," Lauryn told PEOPLE in July 2023. "We had to set boundaries in between that time, and we had to go to therapy and really, really work through the issues instead of just bottling them back up."

Alana is the youngest of June's four daughters. Born on Aug. 28, 2005, she is the daughter of June's ex-boyfriend Mike, who was part of the cast of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

Since Toddlers & Tiaras and Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, Alana has appeared on several TV shows, including Dancing with the Stars: Juniors, The Masked Singer and Mama June: Road to Redemption. Her Lifetime biopic, I Was Honey Boo Boo, premiered in May 2025.

She lived with half-sister Lauryn, who was granted legal guardianship of Alana in June 2022. June was also ordered to pay Lauryn $800 per month in child support for two years until Alana turned 18.

Alana and June have had a turbulent relationship over the years. Though Alana attended her mother's 2023 wedding, they were at odds again in 2024, when Alana accused her mom of stealing $35,000 from her and refusing to pay her back as she attempted to pay for college.

The former reality TV star graduated from Wilkinson County High School in May 2023. She attends Regis University in Denver. "She's following her dreams of being a PICU [pediatric intensive care unit] nurse," June told PEOPLE in April 2026. "She works at a hospital in Denver, and she also is gonna be graduating next year."

Alana has been dating Dralin Carswell since 2021. He was 20, and she was 16 when they went public with their relationship on social media. Carswell has since moved to Denver to be with Alana.

Mike Thompson

Mike, nicknamed "Sugar Bear," is the father of Alana, whom he shares with June.

The two never officially wed, but they exchanged vows in a commitment ceremony in May 2014. They split in September of that year.

"Sugar Bear and I have decided to take some time apart to figure out some things in our relationship," June told TMZ at the time. "We are taking things day by day, but regardless of what happens, the girls will always be our No. 1 priority."

Since the cancellation of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, Mike wed Jennifer Lamb in February 2017; however, the two are no longer together. Mike has also made appearances on Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars and Mama June: Road to Redemption.

As far as how active he's been as a parent in Alana's life, Lauryn told PEOPLE in 2023 that while June had been "so much better," Mike wasn't involved "at all" in raising his daughter.
