Ryan Seacrest might have amicably split from one of his live TV gigs in 2023, but, according to one of his former cohosts, he also split his *pants* numerous times on set.

During a Thursday morning discussion about undergarments on *Live With Kelly & Mark*, Seacrest's successor in the cohosting chair, Mark Consuelos, asked his wife and longtime *Live* personality, Kelly Ripa, about the state of Seacrest's trousers.

"You should make sure you have a cotton crotch," Consuelos advised before turning to Ripa and saying, "I heard that [the] previous guy here, Ryan Seacrest, would split his pants here a lot!"

"He'd split his pants constantly," Ripa added of Seacrest's appearances on the talk show, which he hosted with her from 2017-2023.

"Do you remember when Ryan would split his pants just doing random [things]?" Ripa asked Michael Gelman, a longtime *Live* producer, who chimed in with a loving memory of his own.

"Yeah, there were wardrobe malfunctions!" Gelman replied. "He liked a tighter fit, but then he'd do athletic things..."

As Gelman trailed off, Ripa cut in to joke, "Athletic things? He bent over once! He picked up a tissue and he split his pants!"

Ripa and Seacrest have remained close friends since he departed *Live*, with him visiting the show several times since he exited as a permanent cohost. He's also been open about his live wardrobe malfunctions across his career, including on *American Idol*.

While hosting *Live* with Ripa in early 2022, he detailed an incident from* Idol *that year.

"Apparently, America voted and said there was anatomy in the shot," Seacrest joked, referring to the pants he wore on the singing competition's live finale. "There was just panic about it, and we changed it."

Seacrest added that his stylist, Miles Siggins, alerted him to the potential issue. "We go to commercial and he says, 'Can I tell you something? We need to change your underwear,'" Seacrest recalled. "I said, 'What do you mean we need to change my underwear?'"

He added that Siggins then offered to swap out Seacrest's underwear with his own to resolve the issue.

In March 2025, Consuelos had his own wardrobe malfunction on *Live*. As Consuelos and Ripa segued into the show's fan-favorite *Stump Mark* game, he could be heard exclaiming, "My zipper's down!"**

"Did anybody notice that?" Ripa asked, while Consuelos confirmed to the audience, "My fly was down the whole time!"**
