Peter Phillips is set to marry nurse Harriet Sperling this Saturday, June 6, with the royal wedding sparking controversy.
Much of the royal family is expected to attend the celebrations, including Prince William and Kate Middleton, though some tension may loom over the occasion. Debate has emerged over whether Harriet will be granted permission to wear a tiara on her wedding day.
She will not receive any royal titles upon marriage, as Peter Phillips holds none, following Princess Anne's decision to decline them at his birth. Despite this, Peter's first wife, Autumn Kelly, was granted access to Princess Anne's Festoon Tiara for their 2008 wedding. When Harriet marries Peter, two people who won't be in attendance are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Peter's sister Zara also wore a tiara at her 2011 wedding to Mike Tindall, borrowing Princess Anne's Meander Tiara. However, according to the Royal Insider Network on YouTube, Queen Camilla's office blocked Harriet from accessing any jewelry in the Royal Vault on the grounds that she is not part of the royal bloodline.
The royal commentary channel claimed Prince William retaliated on behalf of his aunt in the "brutal war," authorising a total administrative lockdown of the vaults to allow Harriet to wear a tiara.

Should tensions arise at the wedding, it may be fortunate that the King and Queen cannot stay long, as they are scheduled to attend Derby Day at Epsom Downs Racecourse.
The couple serve as joint patrons of The Jockey Club, which owns and operates the Surrey racecourse. Queen Elizabeth held the role of patron before them for 68 years, missing only two race days throughout her tenure. Jim Allen, general manager of Epsom Downs Racecourse, said, "We are honoured and thrilled that The King and Queen will be joining us at Epsom Downs on Derby Day.
"Their Majesties show great enthusiasm, interest and support for horseracing in the UK and their attendance next week will be a proud moment for all of the team here and everyone connected with the racecourse."
Prince Harry, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, and Sarah Ferguson are reportedly not among the attendees at the wedding.
A friend of the couple said, "Peter and Harriet's wedding is an intimate occasion with their close friends and immediate family around them in the Cotswolds. It's an area where they grew up and is very special to them both.
"When and whether Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and Sarah Ferguson had been invited, it was probably not deemed appropriate to invite them. It's Peter and Harriet's special day, and clearly their attendance would cause a distraction to the whole day. Peter and Harry haven't spoken for several years and have simply lost touch, so he hasn't been invited."
