NBC is shaking things up for its fall 2026 lineup.
As the fall TV season nears, all eyes are on NBC's programming after the network recently announced some changes, including an ambitious slate of four new shows with big names attached as well as nine cancellations.
The lineup of two dramas and two comedies includes "911" star Peter Krause's first role since he exited the long-running first responder drama, a high-profile reboot of "The Rockford Files" starring David Boreanaz, a marriage sitcom with Téa Leoni, Tim Daly and guest-star Jamie Lee Curtis and private-eye comedy starring "New Girl" actor Jake Johnson.
As for the cancellations, "The Kelly Clarkson Show" and "Stumble" were among those that were axed. NBCUniversal's Jeff Bader, president of program planning strategy, ahead of NBC's upfront in May, told reporters the network is running on a "very tight schedule."
"We had to look for opportunities where we could grow, so there are shows that we love that just didn't make the cut," Bader reportedly said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The drama follows "a family of law enforcement agents bridges personal differences and crosses professional boundaries as they tackle cases for the FBI, US Marshals, Secret Service and Department of Justice." The synopsis says that "after a seemingly cut-and-dry case turns into a deadly conspiracy, they must use the expertise from a lifetime of protecting civilians and politicians to protect one another and bring the killer to justice … even if it means betraying their sworn code." Stars include Peter Krause in his first post-"911" role and Hope Davis, and is produced by Josh Safran ("Gossip Girl"), Ben Spector and "Today" host Jenna Bush Hager.
'The Rockford Files'
NBC calls it "a contemporary update on the classic series of the same name," and it will star "Bones" and "SEAL Team" alum David Boreanaz in the title role.
"Newly paroled after doing time for a crime he didn't commit, James Rockford returns to his life as a private investigator using his charm and wit to solve cases around Los Angeles. It doesn't take long for his quest for legitimacy to land him squarely in the crosshairs of both local police and organized crime." Jacki Weaver ("Animal Kingdom") is also in the cast.

'Newlyweds'
A comedy that the network describes as "a later-in-life love story about a free-spirited woman and a buttoned-up professor who marry impetuously after a whirlwind courtship," the series is anchored by Téa Leoni and Tim Daly.
NBC also teased that Oscar-winning and prolific actress Jamie Lee Curtis will be a recurring guest star (she's also a producer).

'Sunset P.I.'
Billed as a comedy, NBC says "Sunset" "continues the proud tradition of Los Angeles private eyes that began with Philip Marlowe." But the synopsis also says that tradition will "end with this show."
The cast includes Jake Johnson, Jane Levy, Langston Kerman, Mary Shalaby and Keith David and is written by "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" producers Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredici. The first episode is directed by Lonely Island comedian Akiva Schaffer.
