Kate Middleton and Prince William are having an away day in Scotland.

As Prince Harry stepped out in London for the second day in a row amid his lawsuit against the publishers of the Daily Mail, his brother and sister-in-law were over 400 miles away, visiting Stirling and Falkirk to shine a spotlight on Scottish traditions that are continuing to connect communities.

Prince William, 43, and Princess Kate, 44, made a stop at The Kelpies in Falkirk. The 30‑meter‑tall steel horse‑head sculptures embody the fusion of Scotland’s rich heritage and mythology with the power of Scottish industry and engineering.

Posing for photos with the structures, the couple matched in blue ensembles, with Princess Kate sporting a long tartan jacket — a nod to the country.

The Prince and Princess of Wales' day also included a visit to the National Curling Academy, where they met with Great Britain's Olympic and Paralympic curling teams ahead of the upcoming Winter Olympic Games and Paralympic Games in Milano-Cortina.

The royals met with the teams and heard about their training before taking part in curling, which traces its roots back to 16th-century Scotland.

The Prince and Princess of Wales' next stop will be to Radical Weavers, a handweaving studio that doubles as a charity where patrons learn about the heritage of Scottish tartan and benefit from the therapeutic qualities of weaving while creating blankets and textiles to give back to those in need.

Prince Harry, 41, is expected to be in court for most of the week, as he joins several high-profile figures, including pop star Elton John, actress Elizabeth Hurley and Jude Law's ex-wife Sadie Frost, in suing Associated Newspapers (ANL) for alleged illegal information gathering.

Associated Newspapers has "vigorously" denied the allegations, the BBC previously reported.
