Jon Bon Jovi has given fans a health update after he had vocal cord surgery.
The singer underwent major surgery and previously questioned whether he'd be able to tour again.
Bon Jovi said he "never lost faith" that he'd return to the stage.
Jon Bon Jovi is living on more than just a prayer, as the singer has offered an encouraging health update after undergoing major vocal cord surgery that previously forced him to question whether or not he'd be able to tour again.
In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly's sister publication, PEOPLE, Bon Jovi revealed how he's feeling as the band prepares to hit the road in July on their Forever tour. It's been four years since their last outing and marks their first tour since Bon Jovi received his surgery.
"I'm fully recovered," he told the outlet, noting that he spent years working with vocal coaches and doing vocal exercises to bring his voice back. "It was longer than I'd ever expected, but it had to be right. We never lost faith."

The 64-year-old maintained that he "never did anything to hurt the cords" and "didn't have any excesses" because he's "a trained vocalist" who knew how to protect himself from serious damage.
"I've practiced the craft," Bon Jovi continued. "So when a doctor had to explain to me that one of the cords was literally atrophying, it was confusing."
His band, including David Bryan, Everett Bradley, Hugh McDonald, John Shanks, Tico Torres, and Phil X, were one of his main sources of support as he worked through recovery.

"They never doubted [me] and never looked for work or decided to retire. The sacrifices that each one of them have made to be there for me is on a whole 'nother level," the superstar reflected. "They said, 'No, we're with you.' Every day of every rehearsal they were there with me. My love for them has only deepened."
Another motivating factor for Bon Jovi was his newfound status as a grandfather, including to his son Jake Bongiovi and actress Millie Bobby Brown's baby.
"Well, outside of work, what brings me joy is realizing that the sun is shining. It sounds a little trite, but it's not," he told PEOPLE. "I used to always have my nose to the grindstone, always put my head down, thinking of tomorrow, never living in the today. This forced me to not only live in the today but be appreciative for every today that's still here," he adds. "So the simple joys of waking up with my granddaughter today, playing tennis with some guys that I've never met before, staring at the little puffy cloud in the sky . . . This is it. This is as real as it gets. That's joy."

Just prior to his interview with the publication, Bon Jovi even added that "Jake and Millie were here today with the baby — they just left," he said, calling family time an "absolutely awesome" experience for him.

Bon Jovi's upcoming tour will launch on July 7 with a residency at New York City's Madison Square Garden, before the group heads to Europe to play shows in London and Dublin.
