Blake Lively, Collen Hoover, Justin Baldoni -
Blake Lively referred to Justin Baldoni as a “rabid pig” and accused him of "smearing" her in texts to It Ends With Us author Colleen Hoover
The messages are part of newly unsealed evidence in Lively’s lawsuit alleging sexual harassment and retaliation
The case is heading to a summary judgment hearing that could determine whether the claims proceed to trial
Blake Lively accused Justin Baldoni of smearing her and referred to him as a “rabid pig” in text messages to It Ends With Us author Colleen Hoover, according to newly unsealed court records.
The messages were disclosed Tuesday, Jan. 20, ahead of a summary judgment hearing scheduled for Jan. 22 in Lively’s ongoing lawsuit against Baldoni, 41, and Wayfarer Studios.
In a July 11, 2024 text exchange included in the filings, Lively, 38, detailed her frustrations over what she described as Baldoni’s conduct.
“... Despite his repeated disturbing behavior and acts, I still feel bad for him,” Lively wrote at the time. “To be reminded multiple times DAILY that he’s smearing me for … asking him not to sexually or emotionally harass me? For making his movie better? For calling in all the favors to turn out all the biggest musicians and entertainers to contribute to making his movie better? For leading a marketing campaign for free?”
She continued, “I literally don’t know a single thing I’ve done that he can smear me about. Ryan says he should be writing me apology and thank you letters every day. And instead he chooses to make a monster outta me … but what’s my crime. I’ve only ever stayed focused on the work and given him EVERY opportunity to make it better. And he just keeps behaving like a rabid pig.”

Hoover responded by expressing support for Lively and criticizing Baldoni’s behavior.
“Exactly. I think as women and mothers we’re taught to give grace until there’s nothing left of us, but in times like these sometimes it’s good to be reminded that grace is wonderful until it compromises your integrity,” Hoover wrote. “I sometimes start to feel bad too but I can guarantee you he hasn’t felt an ounce of guilt. He’s too busy playing victim while you work your ass off to make a better movie that he gets credit for.”
The text messages are among a growing body of evidence unsealed in Lively’s lawsuit, which alleges sexual harassment and retaliation tied to her experience working on the film.
Baldoni has denied the allegations, saying there was no smear campaign and negative attention directed at Lively online happened organically. His lawyer Bryan Freedman told TMZ in June 2025 that Baldoni "wants to be vindicated, and that's all that he cares about." He added at the time: "He's waiting for his day in court, where he can speak out to tell the truth."
In a Jan. 20 statement about the newly unsealed evidence, Lively’s attorney Sigrid McCawley said the materials include “testimony, messages and evidence from numerous eyewitnesses backing the claims in Ms. Lively’s lawsuit.”
“As we head to trial, only Ms. Lively’s claims against the defendants remain,” McCawley said, noting that the court dismissed Wayfarer Studios’ retaliatory countersuit last June. She added that the evidence includes Lively’s own testimony and accounts from multiple women describing what McCawley characterized as “disturbing experiences,” as well as documentation showing that concerns were raised internally as early as Spring 2023.
A judge is expected to determine whether some or all of Lively’s claims will proceed to trial, which is currently scheduled for May 2026.
