One *Live With Kelly & Mark* guest got a little *too* excited on the set of Thursday's broadcast.

Daytime TV staples Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos were greeted with an early-morning surprise when a perky pooch lifted its leg and peed on the show's set during a segment about performing lifesaving procedures on pets.

Shortly after *Live* welcomed a pet expert to explain how to conduct CPR on animals, the audience gasped as the camera cut to a wide shot of the cohosts sitting on a bench as a pack of live dogs ran around them.**

It quickly became clear that a certain pooch on set, a large white dog, had lifted its leg to pee on the fake bush behind the bench.

"Good boy!" Ripa said when she realized what was happening mere inches from her.

Later, after the dog finished its business, she exclaimed, "Please let him take a dump!" as the audience continued laughing, with one member applauding.

The moment recalled an earlier on-air incident involving a dog relieving itself on *Live,* pooping on the set in September 2025.

"That's pungent," Ripa observed at the time, shortly after praising the canine guest for being a "good dog" in the moment.

Dr. Draper, a pet expert who visited the show for that segment, added, "*That* dog has had some fancy dog food, I can tell you that right now. That's really good stool."

Ripa and Consuelos often have segments about dogs, as they're open about their affection for their pets at home — including Lena and the late Chewie, their 17-year-old dog who died in February 2025.

"I'm really sorry. I thought I got it all out, guys," Ripa said after announcing Chewie's death on air. "I really thought I got it all out, and I apologize because I did not. This is not how I wanted this to go down. God, she gave us so much."

She continued, "We're filled with gratitude for this dog … As each one of our kids left for college and then moved out on their own, Chewie remained right there like our steadfast companion."
