WARNING: The below contains major spoilers for 1000-Lb Sisters Season 8, Episode 3, "Tinture Tantrums."
What begins as a backyard celebration quickly spirals into one of the most emotional episodes of the season. Chris Combs hosts a barbecue to honor Brittany Combs' weight loss success, but the party is soon overshadowed by Amy Slaton's shocking Maid of Honor reveal. Meanwhile, Tammy Slaton attempts to mend her relationship with Amyâonly for things to take another painful turn.
Amanda Halterman's Health Scare
Amanda Halterman has been largely absent from this season of 1000-Lb Sisters. Now, viewers finally learn why.
"Amanda's been in and out of the hospital pretty regularly...and it's terrifying because they can't figure out what's going on," Chris tells producers.
According to Haltermanâs doctors, her health issues could be "bariatric from malabsorption or Covid related where I had Covid in January." She went on to describe her blood pressure as "the biggest issue."
Halterman still shows up for the barbecue celebrating Brittany's successful surgery, but she makes one thing clear: if anything "popped off" between her siblings and caused her blood pressure to spike, she would leave.
Sheâs been candid about her health struggles on social media as well. "Thankful to be feeling so much better!" she wrote in a December 2025 Instagram post. "I appreciate all the love and support I have from @leonardemoore and my children. I wouldnât have made it through this past year without yall. Never take your health for granted."
Amy Slaton Drops a Wedding Bombshell
At the barbecue, Amy and her now-husband reveal theyâve secured a wedding venue. Their original plan fell through, but they found another haunted location that works for the whole family: the Talbott Inn.
"They have rooms where Abraham Lincoln [and] Jesse James stayed," Lovvorn shares. Amy adds that they went ghost hunting at the venue before agreeing to get married thereâan idea that visibly unsettles Tammy.
But the venue isnât the only surprise.
Amy casually asks her siblings, including Brittany, to be part of her wedding party, explaining that their only job is to find something theyâre comfortable wearing âin her color.â Everyone is stunned. Until that moment, Amy hadnât officially asked anyone to be in her wedding.
Then comes the real shock: Tammy wonât be her Maid of Honor.

"Lee Leeâs going to be my Maid of Honor," Amy says.
When producers ask Tammy about the decision, she responds simply: "I donât wanna talk about it."
Tammy Calls Amy a 'Deadbeat Mom'
Later in the episode, Amy is supposed to join Tammy at an animal shelter. After asking what kinds of animals will be thereâand citing lingering PTSD from her camel biteâAmy decides not to go.
That decision sets Tammy off.
"Grow up," she texts, calling Amy a "f--king child."
Amy fires back that she doesnât "force" Tammy to do things that "hurt her."
"Youâre not forcing me to do anything?" Tammy replies. "I donât wanna go to your f--king wedding."
Then comes the final blow.
"[Youâre a]...deadbeat mom and...Iâm done with you b--ch."
The episode ends with Amy in tears and their relationship more fractured than ever. Will the sisters find their way back to each other?
1000-Lb Sisters airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
